
Let's be real. If you're a service-based business owner and you're not using AI to help you get more clients right now, you're leaving a whole lot of opportunity on the table.
I'm not talking about robot-written content that sounds nothing like you. I'm talking about using AI as your behind-the-scenes strategist that helps you show up consistently, create content that actually ranks on Google, and attract the right clients without burning out.
Here's how I use AI to get more clients using SEO and content, and how you can do the same.
SEO used to feel complicated and slow. You'd write a blog post, cross your fingers, and wait six months to see if it would rank. But when you combine AI with a solid SEO strategy, you can create content faster, target the right keywords, and start building organic traffic that brings clients to you consistently.
For coaches, consultants, and service-based business owners, this is gold. Because unlike paid ads, SEO compounds over time. One great blog post can bring you leads for years.
Before you write a single word, you need to know what your ideal client is typing into Google. This is where AI becomes your research assistant.
Use tools like ChatGPT or Claude to brainstorm search queries your ideal client might use. Ask it: “What questions does a small business owner who wants to get more clients search for?” You'll get a goldmine of content ideas that are already aligned with search intent.
Then take those ideas and run them through a keyword research tool like Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, or even Google's free “People Also Ask” section. Look for keywords with decent search volume and lower competition, especially longer-tail phrases like “how to get more clients as a small business coach” or “best marketing strategy for service-based businesses.”
Here's where people get it wrong. They use AI to write their content and it comes out sounding like a robot wrote it at 2am after too much coffee. Your content needs to sound like YOU if you want it to convert.
My approach: use AI to create the structure and the first draft, then rewrite it in your own voice. Give AI your brand voice guide or some examples of your writing so it can get close to your tone. Then you go in and make it yours.
When your content sounds like you AND ranks on Google? That's when the magic happens. People find you through search, read your post, feel like you totally get them, and then click through to work with you.
This is my favourite AI hack for getting more clients with less effort. Write one solid blog post (optimised for SEO), then use AI to repurpose it into:
One post. Multiple touchpoints. Every single one driving people back to your website where they can learn more about working with you.
SEO doesn't have to be scary. Here's the simple version: pick one focus keyword for each piece of content, and use it naturally throughout your post, in your title, in your first paragraph, in your subheadings, and in your meta description.
Use AI to help you write your meta description and title tags. Ask it: “Write a compelling 155-character meta description for a blog post about [topic] targeting the keyword [keyword].” Done.
And don't forget internal links. Link from this post to your coaching page, your group program, or your lead magnet. That tells Google your site has depth, and it keeps readers on your site longer.

AI isn't replacing you. It's amplifying you. When you use it strategically to create SEO content that sounds like you and speaks directly to your ideal client, you create a client attraction machine that works while you sleep.
Start with one blog post this week. Pick a keyword, use AI to help you structure it, write it in your voice, and publish it. Then do it again next week. Rinse and repeat.
