Today, we're talking about building a program creator's mindset, which I believe is one of the most important things when it comes to building a successful group program.

1) Mindset Matters

As with most things in business, mindset matters. Your mindset will determine what you end up doing, what you go after, what you create, how big you go, and what you invest in your program and yourself. That's why mindset is so important.

Right now, I see a lot of people saying they don't have time to create a program because they're too busy with one-on-one client work or other excuses. But let's be real, if you really want to do it and you're not doing it, then there's a mindset block or issue there. We either want to do something or we don't.

2) The Sales Triad

When it comes to programs or coaching, there are three core things that you need to believe in, and it's called the sales triad.

  1. You have to believe in your ability to deliver an outcome and a transformation for your client.
  2. You have to believe in the program itself and know that what you've created works.
  3. You have to believe that your client can get the result for themselves within this container.

If you're putting off building your program, then there may not be a belief that is sitting well with you within those three things. You may not believe that you are someone who can get your clients success within this container, or you may have thoughts like “I don't think this is going to work” or “I don't know if I'm going to be able to build something that people are actually going to want.”

3) Choose to Get Unstuck

I know that mindset can be a huge thing when you’re want to build your program and I hear people say all the time that they’re stuck and can’t make it happen.  

The truth is that if we think we’re stuck then we’ll stay stuck. 

I get stuck sometimes too, but when I feel stuck, I ask myself, “How bad do I want this?” and I take action. Even if it's just one small thing, like writing out a sales page, taking action can help get you out of feeling stuck.

If your online program is something you've been wanting to do for a long time but you just haven't done anything and you're stuck, then I'm going to call you on it and say you're choosing to be stuck. There are things you could do right now to start moving forward.

4)  Believe in Yourself, Your Program, and Your Clients

Once you nail the first belief of believing in yourself, that you can do this and it's possible, then the other two beliefs kind of come off the back of that. You'll feel so much more confident that the program you're about to build is going to help your clients and do what you want it to do.

The third belief is the belief in your clients. I believe that when my clients come into my programs, I will be able to support them, the course will be able to get them the outcomes they want and the knowledge they need, and my clients are competent, capable, and able to get the results.

5) Where Are You on a Scale of 1 to 10?

If you're ready to shift out of being stuck and start moving towards building your program, then I want you to really look at each of those three beliefs and ask yourself, where are you on a scale of 1 to 10?

  1. Where are you when it comes to your belief in being able to do this and being capable?
  2. Where are you that you know you can create something that will absolutely 100% without a doubt help your clients achieve and solve this problem?
  3. How would you rate yourself on your belief that you can attract amazing clients who can do the work?
