Hey, lovely. Welcome back to the podcast. Oh, it almost didn't get out this week, but we're here. I'm recording it on a Saturday and getting it out to you this week, because I have been in I don't even know how to describe it to you. I've got a new coach. I'm shifting a lot of things in the business, and so I have just been deep in the work, and I didn't have a podcast that was banked, and I didn't feel clear enough on what I wanted to share with you this week, until now, until I'd actually worked through the things that I'm working through. So I wanted to share a little bit of that with you. But what I really wanted to talk to you today about is rapid thought shifts. And the reason that I wanted to talk to you about rapid thought shifts is because I am in the at the moment. I'm doing it at the moment, and so I thought it would be a really great topic for us to talk about, but I wanted to challenge your thinking today around how long we think it takes for us to shift the way that we think, the way that we work, and the things that we do in order to get the results that we want. And so that was my motivation for sharing this topic with you today. So first of all, we're not going to do an intro, I'm just going to dive straight in. But first of all, I am currently working with a coach, and instead of it being a three or a six month program. It's basically seven days of coaching for two hours a day. It's a rapid transformation, rapid result type of coaching, and I am here for it, and I'll tell you why one, because I believe that I am capable of getting fast results and being able to shift my thinking quickly in order to do the work that I want to be doing. So there is a certain goal I want to hit, and I have hired this coach to help me hit that goal, and he has offered that we can do this quickly. And so I just thought it was really interesting, because personally, that works for me. I'm like, Yeah, let's go, like, you tell me what I need to do. I'm going to tell you what goals I want to hit, and then I'm going to put the work in. And so we're coaching it like, really early in the morning before my day even starts, so that I can then get on and do the work. And so as I've been in this process, it's so interesting to watch yourself in in certain processes. So as I've been in this process, I have been thinking about some of my community and some of my clients, and also just challenging the way that we work in in the business coaching space and in the business space itself as to how long we think it takes for us to change, how long we think it takes for us to change our thinking, our behaviors, our beliefs, our habits, the way that we work In order to get the results that we want. Now, if you're like me, I have been in three, 612, month containers where I've worked with coaches for long periods of time, and it's been great, and I love it. And I think as women, we love the community, yeah, so we're there for the connection the community, so that we don't feel alone all the rest of it, which I think is, I totally get it. I'm here for that. I love it. I work with my clients like that as well. But there's almost two different tracks here that I want to kind of explore with you today. The first track is, is, that is, you know, being in containers where you feel supported, where you can get ongoing support, and where you can feel connected and have community, etc, which is what we all know, what we all love and know, yeah, as far as the coaching space goes, but the second track is the rapid thought shifts, and the rapid results track. And I think that, and I'm so open to hearing what your thoughts are on this. I think as women, we believe that it takes us longer than what it really could or should to make change. So what I want you to really think about and the things that I want to share with you today is, number one, i. What thoughts need to change right now for you. So if you take a look at your business, and you take a look at your results and what's happening in your business, what do you think of the things that like, the thoughts and the actions that are not helping you to get the results that you want right now? So you know you could even pause this podcast, and I want you to write it down. What are the thoughts and the actions that you are either thinking or not taking right now that are stopping you from getting the results that you want. The second thing is, do you believe that you can change those quickly, or if you catch yourself in the thinking of this, are your thoughts? Yeah, no, that would take quite some time to change. Like, I have a belief that it's really hard to get clients. I have a belief that, like, you know, I'm not really sure exactly that my business is working the way that I want it to, or that my products and services are working the way that I want it to. And that would take a lot, that would take so much to change. Like, I would really have to think it through. And then I would need a couple of weeks or months to really work through it. And then I would make the change, and then we'd have to see how it went. Like, what is your thinking around how fast you could make changes to your thinking, beliefs and your business, like I would and like, DM me on Instagram with an answer if you're listening to this, because I really want us to do some self examination of how fast we think that we can get the results that we want. So that's the first thing is like, what do we think that we need to change, and how long do we believe that it would take for us to change it. So write those things down. The next thing is believing that that change can happen quickly. So if I said to you, okay, I know that you want to change these particular things, and I know that you want to get these results, do you believe that you could change that right now? Like if I said to you, I want you to change it in the next week or two, let's say two weeks. Do you think that you could do that? Do you think that you could find the time, the space, the motivation, the focus to make the changes that you need to right now? Or do you think it's going to take you ages to do that? So just believing that that change can happen quickly? The third thing that I really had to work on as well was knowing that I'm capable of rapid change and just deciding that that's what was going to happen. Now, I have to be honest with you, like, I, if you've been around here for a long time, you'll know I'm somebody that takes action. I'm like, once, I once something gets in my head, I'm like, right? Let's do it. Like, let's go. Let's make the change. Let's let's do whatever it takes to get this fixed and get it right right now, but knowing that you're capable of it, I think is one area that a lot of people might struggle with. It's like, but I just think it would take me a really long time. Suz, I think it would take me a quite a while to get that done. But what if you just decided that it didn't? What if you just decided that you're going to turn your sales around in the next two or three weeks? It's really interesting. One of my beautiful clients, she actually wrote a blog on this too, but she came to a coaching call, like, I don't know, a month or two ago, and she's like, I don't have any clients, I don't have revenue coming in. I'm like, really struggling. And so in that coaching call, we basically went through all the things that she could do. So I want you to email all of your old clients. I want you to connect with people in your network and let them know that you're looking for work right now. And these are some of the things that you could do. I want you to go back to clients who maybe you had discovery calls with that didn't end up buying, and see where there are. Reconnect with them. Like, if you're in Facebook groups, go and connect with the Facebook groups, et cetera. So there was a long list of things that she could go and do. And this is a great example of what I'm talking about today. Is that sometimes we think, oh my gosh, like things aren't working, and I'm not sure what to do, or, you know, it's going to take me a long time to turn these things around. And the thing is, is that that's not always true, like it doesn't always take that long. So she did all the work over the next week or two, and then she came back, and she's like, just had the biggest month financially that I've ever had in my business. I just want you to think about that for a second. She had a no clients, no revenue coming in. We sat, we made a list of all the things she needed to do, she took action immediately because she didn't believe that it would take her three months to do it. And then she had her biggest financial month.
And so when you think about the things that you want to change in your business, when you think about the things that you want to shift your thinking beliefs, the products and services, how you're showing up, getting visible, creating content, whatever it is, whatever it is. What if you believed that you were 100% capable of getting that done in the next week or two, what would happen? And I just this kind of blows my mind as well. Imagine if you were all. Always thinking like that. Imagine if you were always thinking when I find a problem in my business, when something isn't working. I think that I'm capable. I believe that I am capable of turning this around in the next, like two or three weeks, not in the next three months, six months, but in the next two or three weeks, I think I can change this and shift it now, obviously there's going to be things that are much bigger. You know, when I think about like changing all of our technology that was never going to get done in two or three weeks, that was a huge project. So obviously, I'm talking about things that you can change quickly, but also not dragging it out and thinking that it's going to take you forever to change it, so believing that change can happen quickly. Yeah, I want you to really think about that. The next thing I want to talk about is something that I did with my coach, that I had a conversation with my coach about, and he was saying, I want you to focus on this particular thing. And I was like, but do I want to focus on that? I kind of like focusing on all of these things. He's like, but what would happen if you just focused on that? And I had a lot of resistance to it. I was like, I'm not sure whether I want to do that, etc. And I voiced that to him as well. And then I and then I thought, you know something? I know that he's right. Don't you hate that? I know that he's right. And so what I have to do now, when I because I know that that is going to be right, I know that that that is true, what he's saying, I sat and I wrote down a list of 1015, things that sold me on the idea. So this is the idea, yeah. So this is what I have to change. And I'm like, I don't know if I want to change that. Is that a good decision? Should I do it? Should I not deep down, I know it's the right decision. So then I write down 15 reasons as to why that is the best decision that I could make. Write down 15 reasons as to why that decision is going to be such a good decision, all of the great outcomes that I'm going to get when I when I do that thing, when I focus on that one thing instead of focusing on everything else. And so sometimes we have to eliminate the other choices, the other options that are coming up to us when we want to focus on one thing. So I'll give you an example. Is that if I was to say to you, okay, you're not being visible online, and so you're not building your personal brand, which means that you're not connecting with your audience, which means that you're not getting the business that you want. Yeah, so you want to get more business, you want to connect more with the right clients, and visibility is your problem. And so you might be having all of the thoughts about, what are people going to say? Like, this is really scary. I'm really nervous. This is really hard, all the rest of it. Instead, I want you to take that thing and be like, visibility, okay, when I get visible, number one, visibility is my job, which my, one of my old clients, Hayley, said, and I've never, ever gotten I say it all the time, visibility as a business owner is my job. Marketing my business as a business designer is my job. And so now I'm going to write down all the reasons why. When I get visible, this is going to be the best decision I make. And so I'm going to make this decision and make the motivation behind this decision and be really clear on why this decision is going to get me what I want, and all of the great reasons like why I'm going to do this. So once I start showing up and creating content and being visible, it's going to get easier. I'm going to get so much better at talking about what I do. I'm going to be able to connect with more of the clients that I want. I'm going to be able to attract the people that I'm really wanting to work with. Yeah, I'm going to be able to grow my audience. I'm going to be able to grow my list. I'm going to be able to help those who are in my community who need my help when I'm sharing really valuable content. And so now I'm building trust for longer term relationships, like I want you to sell yourself on the decisions that need to be made in your business. Because sometimes what happens is that we're like, Oh, yeah. Like, I think I'll do that. Like, I know I need to do that, yeah, and we're very wishy washy about it. But if you want to have rapid thought shifts, and also rapid result shifts, which is what having those rapid thought shifts will help you to be able to do is that you've got to sell yourself deeply on why this is the best decision, and how making this decision is going to get you the outcomes that you want. And so spend the time on it. And I think this is something that we don't do, where we kind of are shallow in our thinking about why something is going to be a great decision to make. We're shallow in our thinking about the motivation to get something done. We're like, Yeah, no, no, I'll get to that. Yeah, no. Like, I, I will. I will definitely post at some point. I'm not there, yeah, I'm really busy. I don't have. Time right now, but no, I'm definitely going to do it. And you say that for weeks on end, and I'm just like, but really like, can we have some rapid action? Can we have some rapid thought shifts so that we can get some rapid result shifts? Because otherwise this is like, going to take forever. It's going to take forever, and you're going to be sitting in that in between space of, yeah, no, no, I'm going to do it, and then you're not doing it. So I really want you to think about, how can you make the change faster? Yeah, why is this a great decision right now? Why are you going to commit to it over the next two weeks to actually make it happen, so that you can achieve what it is that you want. So I wanted to share that with you, because I am in it, and I am seeing clients who I think, you know, can get faster results if they made the time and built the reason and the motivation and made the decision to just get it done. And I just really want you to explore if you're like, Suz, but you know, it's easy for you. I don't know why it would be easier for me than anybody else, by the way, but like, why is it Why does it take longer? I want you to really ask yourself that question. If you have been wanting to do things and you're not doing it, ask yourself, why is it taking longer? Usually there's fear there, and so then you've got to work, and I'm going to say quickly, because otherwise you could be stuck for, you know, weeks, months, years in knowing that you want to do something, but not doing it. And so now it's about, you know that I love talking about the tools. What are the tools that you're building for yourself to get the rapid results and the rapid thought shifts that you need to get out of your own freaking way and make this happen. Hopefully that's landed for you this week and this late, late in the day podcast, but I am absolutely challenging myself. You know that I'm never going to ask you to do anything, I'm not willing to do myself, but I am absolutely challenging myself to get rapid results so that I by changing my thinking, by by really going deep on why I'm making decisions that I'm making, the motivation behind it, the action that needs to come from it so that I can get rapid results in the way that I want, you know, and even, like, within my business, I have been flipping and flopping on a couple of things in recent months, and I'm so tired of it. I'm just like, I just want to make a freaking decision. I just want to, like, make this decision and get on with it so that I can work with the clients that I want to work with, and do the work that I want to do, and talk about the stuff that I know is going to be really valuable to my audience. I don't know about you. Do you ever get sick of your own rubbish? Do you ever get sick of your own excuses, of your own like, oh, like, yeah, no, that would be good. I'm definitely going to make a decision. And so now I'm like, how do, how do I create tools for myself? And what are the tools that I can help you don't have as well to make rapid thought shifts, to get rapid results?
