Have you ever sat down to create content only to spiral into overthinking? I bet you're wondering whether this will sell, if people will care, or if it’s good enough. Before you know it, you've talked yourself out of sharing what you initially intended. Today, I want to delve into how you can shift your mindset to tap into power, service, and creativity, and connect with the clients you truly want to reach. Breaking that overthinking cycle is crucial, allowing you to focus on what really moves the needle: serving your people and sharing your best work.

Understanding Why We Overthink

I've been there, and I've worked with numerous clients who find themselves glued to marketing strategies and sales funnels. This focus often overshadows their true purpose. It's as if you can't serve your audience because you're too busy fixing your business, and this scarcity mindset keeps you feeling inadequate. Overthinking keeps you from fully embracing the energy needed to create exciting and joyful content.

The Business Part

If your business isn't running as you'd like, feeling stuck is only natural. That's why it's crucial to portion out time for business management. For me, Monday mornings are all about CEO time—working on projects, meeting with my team, refining funnels to build and grow our business. Set aside time to solve these issues, whether it’s improving lead magnets, refining client interactions, or enhancing conversion strategies. Knowing what works, by backing it up with metrics, is the key to freeing your creative energy.

Confronting Your Overthinking

If you're a chronic overthinker or worrier, dig into why you feel this way. Is it self-sabotage, fear of success, or fear of judgment? These feelings can trap you in constant business fixes, delaying the need to truly share your work. Fear of not being good enough can hold you back from putting out your best work. First, fix the business hurdles and dedicate time to this. Then, free your creative energy to focus on delivering content.

Shifting to Giving Energy

I once saw a creator, Caleb Rolston, sharing a free course, which people thought was crazy. However, his effort garnered 10,000 leads. When new to online spaces, fear of giving away too much information is common. However, the more valuable the free information is, the more prospects believe in the value you’ll offer them. An abundant mindset—that giving leads to more—is essential. Embrace the idea that by giving and creating more, you’ll open doors for endless opportunities.

From Scarcity to Abundance: How to Shift Your Mindset

Focus on Helping

Instead of constantly thinking about what you'll gain, ask yourself how you can help someone today. Imagine your dream client’s biggest question, then create to address that.

Create from Overflow

Share what recently excited or enlightened you. Maybe it's a podcast or a course clip, like my recent conversation with a client about a podcast featuring Simon Sinek. Translating these into your own insights enriches not only your content but also your audience’s experience.

Focus on One Person

Think of a recent direct message or a client question you've encountered, and address it openly in your content. The personal touch not only helps one but many who are likely grappling with the same issues.

Remember, the women who become recognised, trusted, and in demand are those who step beyond performance, focusing instead on service. For over a decade, my mission has been helping women claim their space with bold voices. We carry societal baggage that stifles visibility and confidence. Let go of the need to fix everything, and just share what you know. Give yourself business time, but also dive into an abundant, giving energy. Share insights and stories that resonate. This will ensure people remember you.
