When you want to start developing your thought leadership, start with what you believe. What is it that you want to be talking about and what's your position on that topic? What are your opinions? Why do you believe that? How can you talk about it in a unique way?
Look at what others have said, researched and shared. What do you think? Can you include that or challenge it? Be aware of others who talk about what you do in this area. Brene Brown is a great example of someone who uses research to develop her thought leadership and messages.
When you develop your thought leadership always look at your lived experienced to share stories and bring things to life. Where have you seen this, experienced it and lived or learned it?
Your Language Lexicon is the unique language that you use in your business and to talk about what you do. Make it recognisable and something that people connect with. You can use across your socials, on your website, when you talk.
Your ‘isms' are words or phrases that you create or use throughout your branding & messaging.
If someone says – you sound just like X that would be their ‘isms'
What assets do you have that show case your thought leadership. Brand Builder's Academy one of my assets, my book and podcast are 2 other assets – things I own.
Once you're clear on your thought leadership, language, isms and assets where are you showcasing and promoting them? Look at the platforms you're using.
When you bring all of this together you can start to form what you believe, your stories, your messages, and how you deliver all that in a way that your audience, followers and clients can connect and consume what you develop.
