If you're feeling stuck in your business right now, I need you to hear this: you're not failing. You've probably outgrown where you are.

That might be an aha moment for you, because so many business owners sit in that stuck feeling for weeks — sometimes months — trying to figure out what's wrong. What strategy am I missing? What tactic should I be implementing? When really, the answer is that something needs to evolve.

I can talk about this because I've been there. Multiple times. And I've had this same conversation with countless clients who are smart, driven, action-oriented women — and they still hit that wall. So let's talk about what to actually do when you're in it.

1. Stop Consuming and Start Auditing

The first thing you need to do when you're feeling stuck? Get off Instagram. Close the 10 tabs you've got open. Stop consuming.

From a mindset and neuroscience perspective, we feel overwhelmed and stuck when we ask our brain to do too many things at once. The sheer volume of information and tasks we pile on ourselves creates the stuckness.

So step one is a proper audit. Look at everything on your plate and start editing. Use the Stop, Start, Continue method:

  • Stop: What do you need to drop right now?
  • Start: What do you need to begin doing?
  • Continue: What's actually working that you should keep doing?

This gap analysis is where clarity comes from. And clarity is the antidote to confusion. Feeling stuck is just a form of confusion — you're not sure what to do next. When you get clear, you can take action.

2. Ask Yourself the Uncomfortable Question

Brace yourself for this one.

Is this a strategy problem, or is this a you problem?

Nine times out of ten, you're not stuck because you don't know what to do. You're stuck because you're scared to do it.

I'll give you a personal example. I've had programs in my business that I've known needed to be retired. But the thought of dealing with the tech, the communication, rebuilding something new — it was so overwhelming that I just stayed stuck instead. It wasn't a strategy problem. It was a fear problem.

If you can identify your fear and start chipping away at it — even with small steps — you'll start moving again. Ask yourself: what is the simple next step I can take right now?

3. Talk to Your People

There are two groups of people you need to be talking to when you're stuck.

Group 1: Your audience and potential clients. What do they need right now? What are they struggling with? This research helps you make faster, more confident decisions because you're not guessing — you know.

Group 2: Your business besties. I've got a WhatsApp group with a couple of business owners who do what I do. They get it. I can fall apart in there if I need to. They're my safe zone.

If you don't have this kind of support, I'd strongly encourage you to build it. Business is hard, and you can't always share your struggles publicly. Having people who understand and can help you work through the messy middle is invaluable.

4. Kill the Offer That Isn't Working

This one stings, but it has to be said.

If there's something in your business that's taking up mental space but not generating revenue or doing what it's supposed to do — it's time to let it go.

I know it's tough when you've built it, branded it, and sold it. But here's the truth: if it doesn't light you up, you won't sell it. If you're not passionate about it, you won't sell it. If you don't think it's up to scratch, you won't sell it.

So you either kill the offer or fix it so you feel great about selling it again. Your audit should cover all of your products and services: what's working, what's not, what lights you up, what doesn't, and what's actually making you money.

5. Take Action in the Next 24–48 Hours

If something has come to mind while you've been reading this — write it down. Create an action plan. And take one step within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Giving yourself a timeframe matters because you can sit in stuckness for a very long time. It's comfortable there, even when it's not profitable or helpful. And here's the hard truth: being stuck is a choice. You're choosing not to pull yourself out.

Even one small move creates momentum.

6. Think Beyond Your Current Business Model

Let's talk about the bigger picture. As we kick off 2026, the business landscape is showing real extremes. Some people are having million-dollar months. Others are really struggling. And the gap is growing.

One thing I'm seeing more and more is the rise of the portfolio career — where you're not just doing one thing. You're consulting, coaching, creating courses, speaking, and maybe even picking up work on platforms like Upwork.

One of my clients did exactly this. She's a creative, and I encouraged her to diversify where she was connecting with clients. She set up an Upwork profile, put her rates at a strong level, and started getting jobs. It became another revenue stream — and no, you don't have to be cheap on those platforms to win work.

The point is: don't be precious about where you show up. Be open to getting paid for your skills in new places and new ways.

Final Thoughts

If you're feeling stuck right now, don't demonise it. It's a normal part of business growth. But don't stay there either.

Audit your business. Get honest about whether it's a strategy problem or a fear problem. Talk to your people. Kill what isn't working. Take one small step today. And start thinking creatively about what your business and career could look like.

Because the businesses that are winning right now? They're the ones willing to evolve.
