Welcome to the Brand Builders Lab Podcast. I'm your host, Sue Chadwick, certified business and mindset coach, author, and speaker. Each week, we'll be talking about simple but powerful business and mindset strategies that will help you build a lean, clean, and profitable business so you can learn to get out live your own way and pay yourself more. Forget average. It's time to level up. Hey, lovely. Welcome back to the podcast. We're here for another week.
Suz Chadwick [00:00:31]:
I'm excited. I'm doing a big batch of podcast episodes that are gonna see me through to 2024, which is crazy. Can't believe that we are at the end of another year. I feel excited. I don't know about you, but I I actually do feel excited for 2024. I was joking around on my Instagram stories and saying that my son was like, 2023 has been so overrated, and it's been mid. Mid. I kind of like that.
Suz Chadwick [00:01:00]:
I probably feel a little bit the same. I feel like 2023 has been mid as well. So I'm excited for 2024. I hope you are as well. Like, I feel like I'm not getting to the end of the year and dragging myself. I feel like I'm, like, energized and ready to go and all the rest of it. We went away for the long weekend over cup weekend, and I feel like that kind of really kinda gave me that break to see the rest of the year through. Feeling amazing.
Suz Chadwick [00:01:28]:
So that is how I'm feeling. I hope that I'm giving you some of my energy. I just wanna thank a few people for I got quite a few emails from my beautiful listeners and my email subscribers. When I shared the podcast around realigning ironing and reenergizing that they really needed it, that they got so much from it. And can I just say I love your emails? I love your messages when you share those with me because otherwise, I just kinda I just kinda feel like I'm just speaking out into the void, void, void, void. So I always love your feedback. I am here for it. You can either leave a review on the for the podcast, that feedback as well, send me a DM, all the rest of it.
Suz Chadwick [00:02:16]:
But, anyway, listen. Today, I wanna start diving into some of the methods and some of the thought leadership around my Amplify Mastermind. I have this vision for it where I have, like, 20 incredible women in a room working together, supporting one another, collaborating, really learning to take their thought leadership to a whole new level, become incredible personal brands, become known, attract their audience, do things that are courageous and that are really just gonna put them on the map. And so that is what the Amplify Mastermind is about. You know I've spoken about it for I am wanting to share some of the things that I teach my clients and I work with my clients on in Amplify so that if you want to come and join us for 2024, then this is for you. This is what we'll do. This is how we can help you create a powerful message that magnetizes and gets you known in your industry as well. So I'm gonna be sharing a couple of key pieces or methods, processes that I teach within Amplify.
Suz Chadwick [00:03:31]:
And if it sounds like something that you are interested in, then you can go check out all the details on my website, and come and join us for 2024 because I'm excited. I'm excited. And you know something? We're always, like, developing it. We're always continuing to evolve it, make it better, make it, like, more engaging and more opportunity for you to really elevate what it is that you're doing as well. And some of the amazing opportunities that have come to me, a request for me to submit my book to a publisher, which is very exciting, a request from LinkedIn to partner with them on a course, a request for speaking at a conference next year. Like, when you decide to show up and share what you have, it's amazing the opportunities that will come to you, and I wanna help you to be able to create those opportunities for yourself. So we're gonna be talking about the Amplify Method, which has been revised and updated, and it's all about creating a powerful message that magnetizes and positions you as the leader that you are. So let's dive in.
Suz Chadwick [00:04:40]:
So let's dive into one of the Amplify methods that I talk about and that I think as a concept and as a guide is really helpful if you are a service provider, a consultant, a coach, if you are in a knowledge business where you are sharing your thought leadership, what it is you wanna be known for, and taking your clients from where they are now to a final destination transformation to help them get a specific outcome, then this can really work well for you. It's something that I work with my Amplify clients on, and I was literally just working with one of my clients on this today as I'm recording this episode. And I think the problem that it solved is that what happens is when we're in our business, we're trying to work out what our message is we're trying to work out what content to share. We're trying to figure out how to communicate what might be quite a deep and complex. When I say complex, like, there's certain steps you wanna go through with your clients to get them the outcome that they want, it can be how to figure out how to communicate that in a really succinct, clear, and memorable way. And so one of the things that I used to do in consulting and that I do in my own business and that I teach my clients is the first thing is to have a method. So have something that you can remember, something that your clients can remember that can really help you to explain what it is that you do. So I'll give you an example is that in BBA, we've got the revenue generation model.
Suz Chadwick [00:06:28]:
And so the revenue generation model or road map goes through 5 key things. So when I'm on a webinar, I take clients through this. When somebody is asking me questions about BBA, I take them through this. It just helps Stu very clearly and succinctly and visually be able to communicate what all of the content and there's a lot of content in BBA. All of the content is, what it does, and how it helps them. So I'm not gonna go through it in detail with you, but there are 5 core things that I teach within BBA, which is the first one, which is know know yourself, know your client, know the problem, the desire, and what you're here to do. And I teach my clients in module 1 and 2 how to do that. We go through the offer, which is highly relevant, desirable, clear, and profitable offers.
Suz Chadwick [00:07:15]:
And in module, like, 2 and 3 or 3 and 4, we go through that. The next thing is convert, so high converting home pages, websites, socials, sales pages, and cart, so making sure that it's easy for your clients to give you money. The 4th thing is the build, so consistently building your brand through value creation, master content, and evergreen searchable content is the 4th element, and the 5th element is memo, so monthly energized marketing offers. So we go through so much within BBA, but if a client wanted to see it at a glance. If I was to explain it and give them the what we do and why we do it. Then having the revenue generation road map is how it all works together, how I can talk about it, how they can see it so that they understand what it is that they're gonna learn when they come into BBA. And so within Amplify, I've also got like, this is the 5 m method. And so having, which is a bit meta, but having the method to start with.
Suz Chadwick [00:08:25]:
So I loved the client that I had today. I'm not gonna go through her method because that's hers to talk about, But she's a stylist and confidence coach. And so she just talked to me about everything that she really wanted for her client, what the opportunity was, what she wanted to take them through, what she wanted to ex them to experience when she works with them. And there were certain words that she used that were really prominent when she was describing this. And so out of what she talked about I said to her, well, you've used this word several times. What about if we use that word as your method, and here's how it could break down. Here's how you could take each letter, and you could make it into one of the elements that you talk to your clients about. And the reason that I could do that is because she just given me, like, her whole spiel about what she wanted to do with her clients and how it would work, and it fit really, really well.
Suz Chadwick [00:09:26]:
And so once I sort of communicated that back to her, she was like, oh my gosh. Yes. That's it. That's exactly what I want to do with them. That's how I wanna communicate it. That makes it so much easier. And so then we're really looking at, okay, how do we then take that method and we create visually, we communicate it on her website, we then use it to create her message. So this is the 2nd m in the five m method.
Suz Chadwick [00:09:54]:
The first one is having a method, road map, blueprint, whatever you wanna call it, and really aligning it with the transformation that you want your client to have. The second thing is that once you've got your method, then you can get your message out of that as well. And so really understanding, like, what am I here to do? Why does this matter? What is this? So what is it that I'm teaching? And then why you need to know about it. So there's a whole education piece and the reason around why you're doing what you're doing. Like, what is that message that you want people to understand? What is the thought leadership that you wanna share with them. What are the ideas that you've got that you're like, this is what I believe? Because you've got remember that when it comes to our values and what we believe, that's what magnetizes people to us. That's what people are drawn to. You know, once again, you know the people that I always talk about, Brene Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert, Simon Sinek, Chris Do, Mel Robbins.
Suz Chadwick [00:10:56]:
So these people's messages really resonate to me. Their values resonate for me. So I'm very drawn to them. I wanna know more about what they think. And one of the things that I don't think that people value enough or they don't think about enough, especially when you are in a knowledge based business where clients are coming to you for your knowledge, for your expertise, for your way of thinking, for your way of working. I think we underestimate this is that for us to put our thinking out there, you actually how to take the time to develop your thinking, to develop your thought leadership, to develop either your concepts, your methods, your unique voice, and I think it takes time. I think it takes time to focus on it, work on it, develop it, put it out there, see what resonates, see what doesn't, give it another iteration, try different ways of talking about it. And if you are in that industry.
Suz Chadwick [00:11:54]:
If you are a personal brand or you're somebody who wants to be known for what it is that you do, I just can't emphasize this enough, that you've gotta show up and you've gotta share it. Like, every single day, Mel Robbins, because she comes up in my feed now because I like her content, every day, there is something from her, and it could be a 10 second message. I think this is the other thing is that we think that this takes so much time that we have to go and create all of this stuff on Canva. And just turning your phone on and just recording what you the what you wanna communicate to your ideal client. That all matters. That's all cumulative. We talked about compounding interest and compounding actions and what that means for your business. And when you think about what your method is so that it's easily understood.
Suz Chadwick [00:12:48]:
When you then craft your message and really think about what you're here to do, what you stand for, what is values aligned, and what you wanna communicate. That then goes into the 3rd m from the 5 m method, which is magnetism. And this is about your brand. This is about building a brand that people can rely on, that is consistent, where I know that if you're creating a podcast, that every week. I can go there or whatever your schedule is, and you are going to follow through on what you've told me you're gonna do. There are people that come to me, and they work with me, and they're like, I found you 5 years ago, and you are somebody that I am always coming back to, always listening to always, like, coming back to the podcast. And even though it's taken me a long time to get here, I've not forgotten. And can I tell you that is compounding brand equity? That is what that is.
Suz Chadwick [00:13:50]:
And so I just really want you to think about how are you creating the compounding brand equity that makes people stick around and wanna come back again and again to you and think when I'm ready to work with somebody, you're the person I'm gonna work with. And I I talked about this when I talked about magnetic magic and aspirational desire and done energy. When I spoke about that at the Huddl event oh, was that was that last yeah, I think I wanna say that was last year, which is crazy because that's what it is. When you create compounding brand equity. You are creating that brand desire where somebody's like, one day I know that I'm gonna work with you. And do you know something? Every time I put out a piece of content, every time I share my message, every time I get on this podcast, us. That is what I'm doing. I'm putting a dollar in my compounding brand equity or my compounding brand piggy your bank.
Suz Chadwick [00:14:55]:
So many different analogies that I'm using, but you know what I'm talking about. Like, every single time you come back to this podcast, I'm putting a dollar in my little brand piggy bank because you know that I'm reliable. You know that I'm gonna show up. You know, that I'm gonna share what's happening, what I'm thinking, how you can build a personal brand, how you can be more profitable, how you can become a bold voice, like, every single time. And so how are you doing that? How are you building your brand equity and compounding it on the daily. And so every morning when I think about, you know, when I haven't batched and when I think about creating content, that is what I'm thinking. Just so that you know what drives me, what is my motivator for creating content every day. It's the piggy bank.
Suz Chadwick [00:15:48]:
It's like I'm gonna add to my value bank. I'm gonna add to this so that I know that I've shown up and I've shared what I'm supposed to have shared today with you because I do believe that content is currency now. Like, we are definitely in the age where content is currency, and you've gotta understand that. And if you're not somebody that is showing up regularly because you're overthinking it, overcomplicating it, making it bigger than it needs to be. I just want you to come right back and simplify what it is you're doing, what you're saying, and just be like, today, I am going to put a coin in my brand bank so that I can start building that desire, so that I can start building that equity, so that I can build the trust with my audience. And with all of that comes magnetism. We love people who show up for us. We love people who create and are consistent and challenge our thinking and challenge the way that we do things.
Suz Chadwick [00:16:51]:
Those are the people we wanna work with. Those are the people that we come back for. And so when you are thinking about magnetism, building your brand, I want you to think about what is my personal brand strategy? What is my business brand strategy, what are the strategies that I'm creating, how am I showing up and doing what I wanna do in order to build this brand, how can I play and test and try new things so that I can ensure that I'm staying relevant? And you've gotta remember that last week, we talked about continuing to refound and rebuild your business, and this is part of it. You've gotta continue to stay relevant and continue to be magnetic. And I think that when we're complacent, and once again, I've said this recently, like, when I went through the period of being very complacent in my business. I think that I just lost a lot of potential clients. I think that I was riding on the coattails of success that I had already had, and and I'm actually gonna do another podcast episode on one of the biggest thought errors and mistakes that I've made in my business, which is a bit around this. But we have to continue to be thinking differently and really deciding how we wanna show up.
Suz Chadwick [00:18:04]:
The 4th m in the five m method ears marketing. So we have thought about what our method is. We've thought about how we're going to communicate our message based on this what we believe in, what we're here to do. We've thought about and have been strategic with how we're building our brand, showing up, putting a coin in our brand equity piggy bank every day, and then it's really looking at how am I gonna market. And so a really simple way that I look at this, and one that I am planning for right now is really taking a look and saying, when are we marketing what? What is it that I wanna share? Even this podcast to be overt with you, and you already know this, is that I really wanna, you know, track the right people into the Amplify Mastermind for 2024. Now in order for me to do that, I need to talk to you about the product. I need to talk to you about the things that I am going to be teaching you and working with you on and why it's important and what it means and how it can help you to grow your business. And so you've gotta have the right marketing strategy, and that's what we work with our clients on is what are you marketing, when are you marketing, how are you marketing, and how we're gonna know what's working and what's not.
Suz Chadwick [00:19:20]:
And I was speaking with a potential client earlier where sometimes even people who are in marketing are not doing their marketing because the plumber's tap is always leaky. Like, we already know that. I've already shared that I have had several people do strategy sessions with me to pinpoint certain things in my business that I wanna do better. And so no matter what you'd you know, whether you're a social media manager, whether you're a marketing person, whether you've got an agency, whether you're in digital, whatever it is that you do. It doesn't matter what it is that you do. It matters about having a marketing plan so that you can start to promote and share what it is that you have with the right people. And we need to be marketing and selling every day. And that might sound extreme, but there is one way or another that you can do it.
Suz Chadwick [00:20:10]:
There's so many different ways. Could send an email. I could do a story. I could share on the podcast. I could do a collaboration. I could speak at an event. I could do a post on all of the different platforms that are available to me. Like, there are so many different ways that I can market my business, and each day, I might pick a particular way of doing it.
Suz Chadwick [00:20:32]:
And I might story sell. You know that I'm all about the jewelry selling. And so when it comes to marketing, there are just so many ways that you can do it, and I really wanna inspire you and encourage you and help you to be strategic, to come up with all the ways, all of the ways that you can market your business and find something that's really fun for you. I have fun marketing my business because it doesn't really feel like marketing. I'm just here, and I'm sharing my thought leadership with you. I'm sharing how you can build your personal brand. I'm sharing how you can build brand equity, and I love this. But I know that I'm doing it as well, not only to share it with you, but to also encourage you to be like, yeah.
Suz Chadwick [00:21:14]:
I wanna do that with you, Suz. So that is one of the things that we will focus on as well as far as getting your marketing where it needs to be to be able to connect with the people that it's right 4 as well. And the last m in the five m method is mastery. And when I talk about mastery, street. This kinda covers a few different things. The main thing is sales, so your sales mastery, making sure that your method, your message, your brand magnetism, your marketing, all come together to master the way that you sell and continuing to sell what it is that you have so that it's really clear for your clients, so that people know exactly where to go, so that you've got a plan in place to sell and sell again and sell again your services, your thinking, your courses, your consulting, your speaking, whatever it is that you're revenue stacking within your business to be able to sell and generate revenue from, then we wanna be mastering that. So we wanna master the way in which we're thinking. We wanna master the way in which we're communicating.
Suz Chadwick [00:22:28]:
We wanna master the way in which we are selling. And so when you can really focus in on those things. And, you know, ask yourself the question, have I mastered those things? Have I continued to master those things? Because once again, what we might have mastered 2 years ago has now completely changed, and so we have to remaster what we're saying, what we're doing, how we're selling, which I kind of find exciting. It can be frustrating. I get that as well. It's like, have I not already done this, Suze? Well, we've that's what business is. It's continuing to evolve and make sure that you are mastering what is going on in the market right now. And so those are the 5 m's, the 5 m method that I teach in Amplify.
Suz Chadwick [00:23:13]:
It's one of the methods. It's one of the frameworks. There are many others. But I just find that it's easy to kind of be able to go, have I done that? I think that with any method that you create, it is looking at and saying, okay, can I tick that off? Like, have I actually achieved that? Have I done that? Have I created that? So that you know what you've got left to do, what you need to work a little bit on, and it's not to say that these are set and forget. I say that in BBA as well. We never set and forget things. We always have to come back and revisit them to continue to make them better as well. But that is what I think is important if you are in a knowledge and thought leadership, consulting, coaching, leading service based business.
Suz Chadwick [00:24:04]:
This is what your clients wanna know. And I wanna me give you just a quick example, is that there are coaches who I have worked with where they they just had completely different thinking. And they shared it all the time, and I loved it, and that's why I wanted to work with them. There have been service providers where, you know, the way that they think, the way that they talk, the things that they share. I'm like, you are obviously amazing at what you do, and so, yes, I now wanna work with you. That's how we decide who we work with, is how good they are at what they do, is how strong they are at sharing their thinking. And I think sometimes we underestimate that a bit. And I was speaking to a client the other day, and she was saying that she gets most of her business from referrals, which is great, but it doesn't always mean that it's the best clients, senate doesn't always mean it's the best paying clients as well.
Suz Chadwick [00:24:59]:
And so whilst, you know, it's amazing to have lots of different places that we can get clients from, we also wanna build something that really targets the clients that we want. So for me, I really wanna work with clients in Amplify who feel like they have something to say, who want to be known for what it is that they do, where they wanna attract high paying clients. They wanna attract clients who are all in on what it is that they're doing, and they would feel stifled to not share what it is that they think and not share what it is that they're here to do. And so once again, it comes back to the vision that I've had for 7, 8 years now. They wanna be bold and powerful voices in their space, and they wanna claim that space with confidence. So if that is you, then I would love to connect with you. If you've got any questions about Amplify, let me know. But you can apply now, and we can get set up for 2024, which is going to be an amazing year.
Suz Chadwick [00:26:04]:
I'm telling you now. That's what's happening. So I hope this has given you some food for thought. I hope that it has given you a bit of an insight into some of the methods that we talk about and we work through within Amplify. Next year, we are supercharging everything, which I'm so excited about I'm actually having a strategy session this week about all the things that I wanna be doing in the mastermind to make it even better and even more amazing. And so I can't wait to see you in there if you feel like this is the right place you. But listen. Have an amazing rest of your week.
Suz Chadwick [00:26:40]:
And if you've got any questions, DM me at Sue Chadwick on Instagram. But, otherwise, I'll speak to you soon.
