Today I'm chatting with Lauren Oliver, the founder of Mums Who Wine. As a mother of two young boys and working as a senior lawyer at a top tier International Law Firm, Lauren was constantly plagued with “mummy guilt” when she desired time for herself. It shortly became evident that without this time, Lauren was less effective, less nurturing and was slowly losing her identity outside of her role as “mum”.

What started as a small Facebook Group as a way of meeting other mum friends at night after work, Mums Who Wine very quickly turned into a business and is now a movement rapidly expanding across the world.

In December 2017 Lauren resigned from her corporate job to focus her time and attention on building Mums Who Wine. Her mission is to create an avenue for every mother to invest in their own self care and to ensure they can be the best version of themselves. She is also passionate about raising awareness and reducing stigma associated with mental illness.

Since launching in 2017 Mums Who Wine has:

  • Launched in 4 states across Australia (VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD)
  • Connected over 5000 mums
  • Hosted 75+ Events including 2 international retreats
  • Raised over $27K for PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia)
  • Reached 700K through our events

In this episode we talk about:

  • How Lauren started Mums Who Wine and why she made the change from being on Partner track as a corporate lawyer.
  • What she learnt along the way that she didn't know before starting her business
  • What's helped her build your business and brand
  • What some of her big wins have been
  • What advice she would give others looking to start their business or grow what they have
  • What the vision for the future
