Let's talk about

Another year, another amazing opportunity to create your dream business and do what you really love! Who doesn't want to have a great year in business?  There are three things that I've found have made my business grow in a way that I've loved with insight, support and focused action.   So today I thought I'd share some of what's really helped me in business with you. 

 

 1// Setting clear goals

In 2015 I set some pretty clear goals for myself.  I had goals around my subscription list, the number of events I wanted to have, financial goals and more.  I wasn't holding myself ransom to those goals but I was striving to build and grow the business in a sustainable and enjoyable way.  So set yourself some serious goals.  Put a number of what you want to achieve. Now if you're a soulful sort, I'm not going to take away from your desire map goals, they are super important as well and I love my ‘how I want to feel' goals!  But these goals are also important and I would encourage you to also set more tangible goals as you grow your business.  If you don't aim for anything then you'll never get very far has always been my moto and it's served me well!

2// Marketing, Marketing, Marketing!

The majority of successful entrepreneurs that I spend my days and nights learning from all say the same thing – as a start up you need to spend at least 80% of your time working on revenue generating activity. I think when we start out, many times we register the business, build the website, make things look pretty and then sit back and expect the work and clients to come flooding in. We then can't figure out why it's not happening.  Marketing yourself, your business, getting exposure and creating connection are key.  Building up your subscribers, providing value, connecting on a regular basis – making the offer and when you create products and services is key.  You have to have something to sell and it has to be good.  It can evolve over time but if you feel like you've got something really great then get out there and let people know about it in every way, shape and form you can.

3// Surround yourself with awesome #bizbesties

The last but by not means the least is to surround yourself with what I like to call #BizBesties.  These are the women or men who support you, lift you up, tell you that you can do it without actually blowing smoke up your you know what.  They are the people that want to see you succeed and what to be there to help you achieve your goals.  Get out there and network, create real relationships and find people who resonate with you in, in non competing businesses.  But the bottom line is make time to meet up with people, have real conversation and you will see your business grow and thrive as you feed with your dedication and the support of others around you!
